Privacy.
If you apply, we keep eight things. They are listed below. Nothing else about you is kept.

Who we are
Skeptical is a free debate team in Florida, run by its coaches. It is not a business and sells nothing. Questions go to skepticalprep@gmail.com.
Visiting the site
No analytics, no ads, no tracking, no accounts. The public pages set no cookies. Your browser remembers, for one tab, that the opening has played, and forgets it when the tab closes.
The site runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare delivers the pages and keeps the technical logs any host keeps, which can include your IP address. We do not use those for anything about you. Cloudflare’s policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Applying
If you apply, we ask for: which of the three paths you want; your name, and a first name with a last initial is enough; your grade; your debate experience, and what you would teach if you picked Lecture; a Tabroom or caselist link if you have one; a way to reach you, a Discord username or an email; and a parent or guardian’s email, only if you want us to be able to write to them.
No school, no birth date, no address, no phone number, no photo.
We use it to read the application, answer it, and if you join, to run the team. We do not sell it, use it for ads, or share it outside the coaches.
Your code
When you apply you get a code, shown once. It is the only key to your application: with it you can see your status or withdraw. We store a scrambled version of the code, not the code, so we cannot look it up for you. A coach can give you a new one.
Who sees it
The coaches named on the people page, and only to decide on applications and run the team. They sign in with their own Discord account, which is checked against a short list. Signing in sets one cookie in that coach’s browser, for eight hours.
When an application arrives, the coaches’ private Discord channel gets one line: the name and the path chosen. Nothing else about you goes to Discord.
Under 13
A child under 13 cannot apply through this site. The form stops at 7th grade and below and stores nothing. A parent or guardian can write to skepticalprep@gmail.com instead, and the coaches answer the parent. Discord itself requires users to be 13 or older.
13 to 17
You apply yourself. We ask you to confirm that a parent or guardian knows, and you can give us their email if you want them in the loop. No coach messages a student privately. A practice round is the one exception.
How long we keep it
A decided application, accepted or declined, is deleted 30 days after the decision. An application nobody has decided on is deleted after 120 days. If you withdraw, or a coach deletes it, it goes at once.
Deleted rows can remain in the database’s own backups for up to 7 days. Then they are gone.
Your rights
Ask to see what we hold on you, to correct it, or to delete it, and we do it within 14 days. A parent can ask for a child. Email skepticalprep@gmail.com and say whose application it is.
Students on this site
Students appear on this site as a first name and a last initial, on results only. Never with a school, a photo or a last name. We ask the student first, and a parent if the student is under 18.
Other services
Links to Discord, Instagram, GitHub and the caselist leave this site, and those services have their own policies.
If something goes wrong
Applications live in one private database that only the coaches can open. They are not in the public code and not posted in Discord. If there is a leak, we tell the people affected, and their parents, within 30 days.
Where this applies
The team and this site are for students in the United States.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the join page says so.
